Use Cases

CASE STUDY 2

A critical infrastructure corridor located in a hilly terrain required continuous slope monitoring due to heavy rainfall, surface runoff, and long-term geotechnical risks. Conventional monitoring methods—such as periodic visual inspections and 2D reports—were insufficient to provide early warning signs or a comprehensive understanding of slope behavior over time. The project team sought a more reliable, data-driven solution to improve safety, monitoring efficiency, and decision-making.

Solution Implemented

Our team deployed a 3D Slope Monitoring solution powered by a Digital Twin Platform to digitally replicate the slope environment and track changes over time. Using a combination of drone-based photogrammetry, LiDAR data, and ground survey inputs, a high-resolution 3D model of the slope was generated and integrated into our digital twin platform.

The platform enabled time-based comparisons between multiple site captures, allowing engineers to visualize surface deformation, erosion patterns, and volumetric changes with high accuracy. All spatial data was centralized in a single digital environment, accessible remotely by project stakeholders.

Key Outcomes

Early identification of slope movement and surface changes

Improved visibility of high-risk zones through 3D visualization

Reduced reliance on frequent site visits, enhancing safety

Faster and more informed decision-making using historical vs. current data

Value Delivered

By transforming static survey data into a living digital twin, the project team shifted from reactive monitoring to proactive slope risk management. The solution improved collaboration between engineers, asset owners, and contractors, while supporting long-term monitoring and reporting requirements.

This project demonstrates how a Digital Twin Platform for 3D Slope Monitoring can enhance infrastructure safety, reduce risk exposure, and provide sustainable asset management for slope-critical environments.
